VIDEOINSTALLATSIOONID / VIDEO INSTALLATIONS:

Taavi Suisalu
Ruumiinstallatsioon «Epitsenter»
New-media installation «The Epicentre»

Installatsioon «Epitsenter» on intensiivistatud tegelikkuse peegel, reaalaegne ruum, mis tegeleb kronesteesia ja kohalolu temaatikaga. Installatsioon koosneb 10st arvutist, sisendiks 30 kohaliku uudiseallika tootlus reaalajas.

New-media installation «Epitcentre» is a intense reality, a realtime environment which investigates themes of chronesthesia and presence. The installation consists of 10 computers which operate, in realtime, with the data of 30 local newsfeeds.

Paavo Käämre
Installatsioon „Veski“
Installation”Wildmill”

Veski on koht, kuhu me kõik ühel hetkel välja jõuame, piir siin- ja teispoolsuse vahel. Mis teisel pool piiri laiub, sõltub piirilseisja enda sisemisest maailmast.

The mill is a place we all arrive at at some point, it's a border between this side and the other side. What's beyond the boundary depends on the world inside the person standing at the border.

Aleksander Sprohgis
Ruumiinstallatsioon "Sakraalne ruum"
Room installation "Sacral Space"

Käesoleva töö sihiks on kaardistada mõningaid aspekte küsimusest, kuidas inimesed kogevad Jumalat (või reaalsuse kõrgemat tasandit – mis iganes nimega Teda/Seda konkreetseis religioosseis traditsioonides märgitaks). Erilise tähtsusega on siin koht, kus Jumala või Kõrgema Reaalsusega tunnetuslikku kontakti otsitakse ja leitakse. Seda ruumi nimetan ma sakraalseks ruumiks. Mis see on?

Paavo Kuldkepp
Video- ja heliinstallatsioon "Tajuruum"
Video and sound installation "Space of Perception"

Kuidas jõuda teadvuse teisenenud seisundisse
How to Reach Altered State of Conciosness
"space of perception"
a chance to relax and to silence inner dialogue for a while. it’s a web of unedited raw information, depicting everything and nothing at the same time.

"tajuruum"
võimalus lõõgastumiseks ja mitte-mõtlemiseks. see on toores, töötlemata info sasipundar, mis kujutab ühtlasi kõike, kuid samas ka mitte midagi.

Suvadeep Das (India)
Videoinstallation "A Word from Santa"

The concept behind this video is the kind of protest against the buying of goods in the name of Gnome -(Santa) to make a huge profit in his name. It was adopted by the Christian faith to manipulate the traditional gift economy which was sacred and done with a good intention of goodwill among people. The Gnome that is the concept of Santa was never used before Christianity for commercial benefits, something which was treated more as a symbol of good will messenger. But the Christian faith misused the pagan concept and begins to add all the nuances of trading in the name of religion. Therefore the Santa comes live from underground to address the consumers to boycott the massive and ignoble practice. Santa requests all to bring some honor and sense in their choice of gift and to adopt a kind of sustainable economy to meet the essential needs of the society and not to exploit the original position of the native and pagan rights.

Villem Jahu & Oliver Laas
ruumiinstallatsioon “Karaoke” / installation “Karaoke”

Sõna karaoke on Jaapanikeelne ühendsõna, mille vaste otsetõlkes oleks „tühi orkester“.
Meie masin on vaba lava ja karaoke hübriid. Tema tuumaks on mõlema meelelahutuse
vormi puhul kesksel kohal olev publiku eneseesitlus.
Hübriidmasin, mis segab endas vabalava ja karaoke funktsioonid ning destilleerib mõlemast vormist välja nende tuumaks oleva eneseesitluse, kasutades antud protsessis ehitusplokkideks fragmente end juba tõestanud video ja performance teostest

A Narcissistic trip through the art history.

Alar Raudoja ”8”
Installatsioon kolmele monitorile. Installation to three monitors
Number of the perfection, the infinity. In mathematics the symbol of the infinity is represented by a 8 laid down.
Symbol of the cosmic Christ.
Number figuring the immutable eternity or the self-destruction. It represents also the final point of the manifestation.
In China, the 8 expresses the totality of the universe.
Number of the balance and of the cosmic order, according to the Egyptians.
Represent the totality and the coherence of the creation in evolution. In China, it expresses the totality of the universe.
Represent the earth, not in its surface but in its volume, since 8 is the first cubic number.
The number 8 means the multiplicity, for the Japanese.
A favorable number, associated to the prosperity.
It is the number of the restful day, after the 7th day of the creation.

Raivo Kelomees
„Kolmkõned / Triple Talks“, 2010. Interaktiivsed DVD-d.

Projekti aineks on kunstiekspertide sõnavõtud kaasaegse kunsti probleemidest, millega vaatajail on võimalik interaktiivselt suhestuda.

Kaasaegset kunsti on tavaks pidada tänase maailma peegeldajaks. Sellegipoolest on kujunenud harjumus süüdistada peeglit kui nägu on viltu. Laialt on levinud arusaam kaasaegse kunsti puudujääkidest, arusaamatusest, küsitavusest tervikuna – probleemsusest.

Vastajate seisukohti esitatakse kolmikutena ekraanidel. Lisaks on palutud anda kaks probleemilahendust. Peale probleemiesitust saab vaataja valida lahenduse, milleks võib saada kellegi teise vastus, kuid ka sama eksperdi oma. Juhuse sekkumine on tagatud arvutiprogrammi abil.

Küsimusega „Mis on kaasaegse kunsti probleem?“ tahtsin asetuda diskussiooni algpunkti, kunstiteosest ettepoole.

Contemporary art is thought to be the reflection of today's world. When you do not like what you see you tend to blame the mirror. The problematic aspect of contemporary art is widely known – namely, issues about its deficiencies, misunderstandings, questionability in general. Something seems to be wrong. However, there are cases where the receiver, the creator, art environment or the tools can be blamed.
The short talks of this project serve as a mini-conference where the experts and art aficionados answer the simpliest question „What is the problem of contemporary art?“ with the emphasis on finding out the inconsistency. At the same time it is presumed that everybody agrees on the well-groundedness of the question posed. There are disagreements though. Given statements are presented on the screens in threes. In addition, two solutions to the problem are expected. Viewers can pick solutions, either by somebody else or by the expert. Coincidences are guaranteed by the computer software.

With the question „What is the problem of contemporary art?“ I aimed at positioning to the beginning of the discussion, before art comes. Answers serve as the subject of art, as the raw material for the exhibition that the viewers are manipulating with. The traditional relation between the object and the subject and the artist and the art expert has been reversed. Experts' statements are used for creating the current exhibition and these are also used by the viewers for further games. This is all carried by simple curiosity – how to answer the main question of contemporary art, as it is too easy to formulate.

Villekarel Viirelaid
Videoinstallatsioon “Absoluutne tõde”
Video Installation ”Absolute Truth”

Absoluutse tõe olemasolu ei saa loogiliselt eitada. Seda tehes
tõestad, et absoluutne tõde eksisteerib.
Absoluutse tõe vastu saab vaielda vaid võttes absoluutse tõe oma väite aluseks.
You can't logically argue against the existence of absolute truth. To
argue against something is to establish that a truth exists. You
cannot argue against absolute truth unless an absolute truth is the
basis of your argument.
